8½ Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA at Galaxy Macau in Cotai is perhaps the best Italian restaurant in Macau. Much of this success is thanks to the chef-owner Umberto Bombana, better known as the “Best Italian Chef in Asia.”

Although its single Michelin star pales in comparison to the Hong Kong branch’s 3-star ranking, 8½ Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA in Macau arguably has a better ambiance. Not only is the setting darker–and more romantic as a result–its atmosphere is also more formal.

Visitors should note that the restaurant is not particularly child-friendly, with children under eight are not allowed unless you pre-arrange the “Kid Club” option. Dress code is smart casual, while hats or caps are strictly forbidden. Finally, remember to try their white truffle dishes as chef Bombana is also known as the “Worldwide Ambassador of the White Truffle.”
